Pick your place.

The seatingScript is a bookingsystem, with which people can subscribe to gatherings and for this, can reserve a seat.

After a long time of development, the first version is due to be released.
The script can be tested on the demo page.


This is a project of www.saulmade.nl, a dutch webdesign company that offers websites, custom programming and graphical work. Saulmade displays your product in a contemporary and characteristic fashion.

Features :

* Reserve/cancel a place.
* Move to another place.
* Request someone to change places. The communication happens by system emails.
* Information about a seat is rendered when the mouse moves over it.
* Special wishes can be requested by email.
* One-click-groupreservations: The script can generate a seating for a whole group by clicking on a single place. All group members will be seated on the row of the clicked seat and if necessary, also on the opposite row and surrounding rows. The genereated seating can be finetuned, accepted or canceled.
* Context-sensetive help as well as general help.
* Groups can be visualised.

* The script can be implemented easily in any (X)HTML page.
* Particular graphical elements can be altered in the admin section of the script.
* The admin section furthermore provides control over all reservations. Users can be moved to another place or can be switched with someone else. Reservations can be cancelled.

* The script can work with the PHPBB userdata.
* Several seatingScripts can run along one another, so that a big gathering can be devided into several groundplans which are accessible through an overview, building or 3D image.

Goal :

The seatingScript now is suitable for LAN parties or all other gatherings which have the places aligned in vertical and horizontal rows. Its my goal to be able to support any sort of gathering for which places have to be reserved.

Todo's :

* A GUI for composing the seats.
* Rendering the places in several ways. These can be standard shapes like round, square and rectangular or a dynamic shape.
* Aligning the places in several ways. Not only rows and culumns, but also predefined structures or dynamic structures.
* If both of the above objectives can be met, extending this into a script that generates the places automatically by scanning an image.
* Building in several use possibilities, so that the script displays itself suited for the intended use. The text within the script can be focused on the intended gathering. For example, we talk about a 'clan' in case of LAN parties and else about 'groups'.
* Providing several skins, so that the script fits perfectly in every environment.
* Documentation.
